Lauren Gooch Transforms Gifts Through Curated Threads

By: Kinsley Alexander

Lauren Gooch, from Scottsdale, Arizona, brought a pandemic-born idea into a reality through Curated Threads by Lauren, which is now a thriving business recreating sorority and collegiate gifts. She has always had an eye for design and the tools for a successful business. “I love creating beautiful things that make people smile,” Lauren says. Her stylish, modern designs have brought specifically the people of Greek communities together across SEC college towns and beyond.

Originally, Lauren pictured a small boutique, but her business quickly boomed. “The Greek items were almost the exact same in bid day baskets as they were when I went through rush at Ole Miss in 2008—that needed to change, and it all started with a pair of earrings,” she says. Recognizing the need for updated and stylish Greek gifts, Gooch went straight into the
design process. She received over 20 sorority licenses within two years. Her determination paid off, and her small business’s reach expanded to nearly 50 stores across the country, primarily in SEC college towns.
Lauren’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed, and her products are a high demand specifically for women in sororities. “I love everything Lauren has,” says Bolton Smith, an ambassador and sorority member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. “I wear one of her sorority headbands all the time—it’s stylish, comfortable, and perfect for any occasion.”

Curated Thread's dedication to quality and authenticity has earned loyal customers who bring continuous support. “Lauren’s products are special in the way she takes her time designing each product and paying attention to detail,” says Olivia Collins, a customer and sorority member of
Delta Gamma. “She is a small business, and I love supporting that because it is dear to my heart.”

Gooch’s business promotes Panhellenic love, bringing unity and pride across all sororities. Her designs celebrate individuality while keeping the same enthusiasm for each chapter, making sure every customer feels valued and represented by what makes them who they
are. This aspect has made her brand a favorite among sorority women nationwide because it reinforces the bonds of sisterhood.

Her products have become popular in the Greek community which includes features in Bama rush bid day bags, sorority national gift guides, and at sorority conventions. For Lauren, the work is deeply personal. “I’m proud to be an Ole Miss alum and involved in the Greek
community in Oxford. Hotty Toddy!” she says with pride.

Gooch’s next big move for Curated Threads  consists of getting her collegiate licensing. “The next big plan for my business is moving into collegiate licensing and offering the same products to universities that I offer for my licensed sororities,” she says. This additional licensing will open doors to university merchandise stores, giving her brand an even bigger
name.

As Lauren reflects on her journey, she says her success is from her passion for reinvention and her commitment to community. “It’s amazing to see something I started during such a challenging time turn into something that brings joy to so many,” she says. With her sights set on collegiate licensing and an expanding product line, Lauren Gooch is proving that change, determination, and a bit of Southern charm can transform an industry into
something better. She provides proof that dreams can be turned into a reality and be bigger than expected.
